Lesotho

We took a trip to Lesotho with Jed, Jenna, and Jed's brother and his wife. Lesotho is an entirely separate country in S.A. We mentioned it in the letter. They have their own king, currency, and culture. It is a very beautiful place and was defiantly worth the trip (even if we had to ride in the back of a truck for 7 hours ;). We could not get a hold of a bed and breakfast to stay at because most of them do not get phone signal, so we went planning to just get one when we got there. When we arrived, they were full, so thankfully, Jed had packed a tent. Unfortunately the tent was very small and we didn't bring enough blankets, pillows, etc. It is very hot during the day and very cold at night, so blankets were needed. We used what we could and loved it! It was quite funny to see 6 adults crammed into a very small tent. If we were not close before, this sure helped! We bathed in the river and used what we could for the night. It was such a fun experience that was full of lots of laughter! Sometimes the most unexpected things turn out the best!

The landscapes were amazing!

The people still live in huts but they take care of them and build them very nicely, which is a large contrast from S.A. Generally, people do not take care of property

Vehicles do not exist here. The only form of transportation is by horse or donkey.

Davy and I at our first stop for a break.

These little boys were bathing in the river and parading around for us. They got so excited that we took their pictures that they started dancing and dancing. It was so cute.

There were beautiful streams everywhere that ran down the mountains.

Dave got a little car sick and fell asleep in the back, so unfortunately his face got FRIED! Poor guy peeled for quite a while, but he was still smiling and had a great time.
